Privacy & Terms
How we handle what you share with us, and the terms under which we make an introduction.
What We Collect
To make a considered introduction, we ask for what a director needs: your name and contact details, basic biographical information, and what you tell us about what you are looking for. Nothing you share with us is used for any purpose beyond finding and evaluating a match on your behalf.
How We Use It
Your information is used to consider you for introduction, to run our services — correspondence, scheduling, invitations — and, only with your knowledge, to describe you to a person we believe merits meeting you. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with any third party for marketing purposes.
Who Sees It
Only the director handling your enquiry, and, where an introduction proceeds, the limited details a prospective match needs in order to decide whether to meet you — never your full profile, and never before a director’s own judgement has been applied on your behalf.
How Long We Keep It
We retain your information for as long as you remain a client or prospective client, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return, or as required by law. You may ask us to delete it at any time — see Your Rights, below.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you may ask what information we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, object to how it is used, or receive a copy of it. Write to [email protected] and a director will respond personally. If you remain unsatisfied, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
We take reasonable care to protect what you share with us, including limiting access to client information to the directors who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorised access.
Terms of Engagement
Maison Matchmaking provides an introduction service on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee a particular number of introductions, a successful outcome, or a relationship of any kind. Fees, where applicable, are agreed with you individually and are non-refundable once a director’s work on your behalf has begun, except where required by law.
Conduct & Standards
We expect honesty, respect, and discretion from everyone we introduce. Misrepresenting yourself — your identity, circumstances, or intentions — is grounds for immediate removal from our service without refund. We reserve the right to decline to work with, or to end our engagement with, anyone whose conduct falls short of what we expect, at our sole discretion.
Safety
We take care in who we introduce, but no introduction service can guarantee the character or conduct of another person. You are responsible for your own judgement and safety when meeting anyone we introduce, just as you would with any personal introduction. If someone we have introduced behaves inappropriately toward you, tell us at [email protected] — we take this seriously, and it may result in that person’s removal from our service.
Confidentiality
Discretion is the foundation of what we do. We do not disclose that you are a client, or any detail of your enquiry, to anyone outside Maison Matchmaking without your consent. We ask the same discretion of everyone we introduce.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Contact
Questions about your data, these terms, or anything else — write to [email protected]. A director will reply personally.
